News & Sentiment

Stay informed with stock market news, trending headlines, and sentiment analysis.

The News page aggregates stock market news and assigns each article a sentiment score — positive, negative, or neutral — so you can quickly scan what's happening and focus on stories that matter to your positions.

All News

The main tab shows the latest stock-specific news articles. Each article card displays:

  • Headline and a short text preview
  • Source publication and date
  • Sentiment badge — color-coded green (positive), red (negative), or gray (neutral)
  • Ticker badges — which stocks are mentioned in the article (up to 5 shown)
  • Image thumbnail when available

Click an article to open the full story at the source. Articles are paginated — use the Previous/Next buttons to browse.

You can filter by ticker symbol to see news for a specific stock.

Trending Headlines

The second tab surfaces trending headlines — the most impactful stories across the market. These are displayed similarly to articles but focused on high-traffic headlines.

Dashboard Widget

The main dashboard includes a Latest Headlines widget showing the 8 most recent stories with sentiment dots and ticker badges. This lets you stay current without leaving your overview. A "View all" link takes you to the full News page.

Sentiment

Each article comes with a sentiment classification (positive, negative, or neutral) from the news data source. Sentiment is shown as a colored badge on every article card.

Sentiment is most useful as a quick filter — it won't tell you whether to trade, but it helps you prioritize which articles to read when you're short on time. Pair it with your watchlist or open positions to focus on relevant stories.

Data Refresh

News is refreshed every 15 minutes in the background. The page also re-fetches automatically every 5 minutes while you have it open, so you'll see new articles appear without manually refreshing.
